North Woodside sits about a mile northwest of Downtown Silver Spring inside the Capital Beltway (I-495), between the Silver Spring and Forest Glen Metro stations and the 16th St.-Woodside and Lyttonsville Purple Line stations, which are currently under construction. It lies alongside the Capital Crescent Trail, also under construction, and close to hiker-biker trails in Sligo Creek Park and Rock Creek Park

It is bounded by Brookville Road, Linden Lane, and Seminary Road (North), Georgia Avenue and 16th Street (East), CSX tracks (West), and includes houses along Elkhart Street and Grace Church Road (South).

From the Beltway, take the southbound Georgia Avenue exits; from Washington, DC, follow 16th Street north.
